2020 has been quite a year for all of us.
Here we are at the end of the year- and given that our plans for the end of the year travel have been cancelled, we’ve been afforded an opportunity to reflect on the year.
Pandemic… Election… Fires… The list goes on and on… Here we are- and we are grateful to be able to share that the Jacksteit household has been filled with blessings. We’re healthy, safe, and most of all, together. We have one another, and that is worth it’s weight in gratitude.
We have passed the two year mark on waiting to find an expectant mother to make an adoption plan. While of course we feel a sense of wanting to move forward, we are comfortable that we’ve been prepared for this extended wait. The timing is completely out of our hands, and we are hopeful that the patience we are keeping will help us to be more patient in parenthood.
As we look to 2021, we are hoping for healing across the globe. We hope that our contribution to the world will help it just a little bit more. Perhaps as you’re reading this, you may be inspired to focus on 2021 as a year of healing and moving forward. Maybe this is going to be the year that you will reach out to someone you’ve needed to let know that you’ve forgiven them. Maybe this is going to be the year you’re going to volunteer to pack groceries at the local food bank like you’ve been wanting to do for years. Or, maybe this is the year you are going to ask for help that you’ve needed for a long time. It’s our hope that you may find peace as we move into the next year of our lives together on this planet.
We are ready for the baby that has been chosen for us by Him.
If you’re able to help us, we would be grateful. How? Well…
- If you can continue to share our story, we would appreciate it. Share www.thejacksteitsadopt.com on your social media (go ahead! Copy and paste!). You can put something like: “My friends are considering adoption, and want to share their journey!”
- Keep on talking to us about it! It is so helpful to be able to talk about it. Ask how it’s going- just know, the answer may be the same as last time… and we are ok with that! It’s just helpful to know people care!
- Continue to follow this blog! If you’re not already following – from the home page, you can put in your e-mail, and subscribe for when we make updated. We only update from time to time, and don’t think you’ll be bombarded. But, you will likely be in the know first when the adoption happens, because we’re posting it here first, once we’ve gotten the news.
May 2021 be a year filled with blessing for all of you. Let’s lift our heads up, and march forward into the next year ready for whatever is in store next!
With Love-
Shane & Kim Jacksteit
Shane and Kim—wishing you a 2021 filled with laughs, hugs, and friends! Xoxo,
