The Walk to End Alzheimer’s

This weekend, Shane, our friend Michelle, our dog Charlie, and I participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This was our 4th walk together for this cause and it’s a tradition we plan to continue years into the future.

I walked to honor my Great Aunt Ruth (who is my (middle) namesake), and my Great Grandma LeVerne.

Shane walked “in honor of my grandmother, Loretta Jacksteit, who suffered from dementia in her final years, and eventually succumbed to the disease.”

We are grateful to those who donated to our team to help raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association® and to the friends who walked with us virtually. We’re also grateful to our friends for sharing their stories of loved ones who’ve been impacted by this disease. As Shane put it, “We also walk for all of those whom you’ve all shared with me. Thank you for sharing your experiences and loved ones. I hope that my walk today honors your families and loved ones.”

If you want to find out more information or are interested in walking with us next year, you can find more info here. If you or your loved ones have been affected, we’d love to hear your story so we can walk to honor them next year.
